The interview started with a recruiter call, then moved to a technical screen where they asked about digital electronics, STA, I2C protocol in depth, and basic analog electronics, including setup and hold time. They also asked if a slave can initiate communication in I2C, the difference between a latch and flip-flop, what metastability and CDC are, the purpose of FIFO, and how to calculate FIFO depth. Questions were also drawn from projects on my CV.

Technical Behavioral

The interview started with a Technical Round where they checked my problem-solving abilities, technical knowledge, and if I understood basic concepts. They asked me stuff about my projects, programming, and what I know about the field. Then there was an HR Round, which was more about seeing if I'd be a good fit personality-wise and if I could communicate well. We talked about what I like to do, what I want to achieve in my career, and if my goals matched the company’s values.

Behavioral Technical

I applied online at the start of May and got an email for the first round interview in the second week of June. It went pretty well. After the first round, there was a two-week silence, which made me think I wasn't moving forward. Then, I received an email for another interview with the hiring manager scheduled for the next week. This interview also went great. After that, I never heard back. I get that they can't reply to everyone, but even after emailing the recruiter multiple times, I got no response. The recruitment team was extremely unprofessional. They'll tell you to be patient during the interview, but I think candidates deserve some feedback, especially after reaching the final stages. My advice is to apply and don't expect much back. The recruiters are really unempathetic and won't reply, so be warned if you're applying here.

So I interviewed with NXP Semiconductors and it started off pretty good but then it got kinda weird because of internal stuff and not being clear on the role. First, the HR call was good, they explained the company and team and told me the job I applied for, Business Analyst – Lead Management, was now a Sales Enablement IT Business Analyst because they changed priorities and had lots of applicants. It was unexpected but they were upfront. Then I talked to the hiring manager, and this was the best part, they really explained the role clearly and said it was based on project needs, not just trends. We talked about how my background fit their projects. It felt professional. But then the team panel interview went downhill. It started okay, but they totally switched the topic from Sales Enablement to Testing Project Management, saying 80% of the job was testing, which wasn't what they said before. They were also judging me based on their own super long experience and wanted someone to do exactly what they're doing. They also mentioned being swamped, making me wonder why they were really hiring. It felt like they just needed bodies to help with work, not really a business analyst. So yeah, HR and the manager were clear, but the later interview showed they weren't on the same page internally. The role kept changing, the info was inconsistent, and I wasn't sure what the job was actually for. NXP seems like a good company, but they need to fix how they define and talk about roles in interviews. Getting everyone on the same page and being honest about what they need would make it way better for candidates.
