I applied straight on the website and then HR reached out for a phone call. They asked why Moog, my experience, and why I'm a fit. Then I had an in-person interview with the hiring manager and an ME II for about 2.5 hours. They really grilled me on my resume, so be ready to back everything up. They also asked about my data analysis experience and gave me a tour.

The interview process was not great, I was rejected after the onsite interview without any reason and no feedback was given. There were a few questions, a tour of the facility, and a question about empathy. People seemed nice, and the site also seems nice, though it appears difficult to access without a car. It gives a vibe of a military base. Having manufacturing and office in one place is quite cool.

It was a pretty straightforward process. I had two interviews, each about 30 minutes long. The first was with the hiring manager, and the second was with a senior software engineer. Both were super nice, though the hiring manager did cut me off a couple of times while I was speaking. I actually went a bit over time with the senior engineer because we had a really good chat about the role and stuff, which honestly felt like it should have been part of the hiring manager interview.

First, I had a phone interview, and then an onsite interview that included a site tour. The people interviewing me were currently working in the department I was applying for, and they could answer all my questions. They quickly answered many questions, and I realized later on that they were accurate. I learned about the work schedules, the type of work we do, and what's expected of me. We talked about overtime and the dress code/uniforms. The whole process felt professional but relaxed.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • After the job and its complexity were explained, I was asked again if this interested me and if it was something I wanted to pursue as a career.

And a very strange question that was meant to throw you off but was ultimately a unit conversion question that sounded something like "A wobegong is moving at 11 ripples per sand dune, so if every sand dune is three stick-widths and every ripple is eight tail-flicks, how many tail-flicks per stick-width was the wobegong moving?"
