The interview process was long, about 4 hours, sitting down with several upscale engineers. The first three had very standard questions mostly directed at current research and projects going on. The last interviewer was much more thorough and asked some basic derivation questions on how to derive transfer functions from a physical system with a controller. Overall, I would say that the interview was moderate to difficult. Only because 4 hours is a long time to talk about yourself. And if you haven't had a lot of experience, you will run out of material.

The gig was for a 12+ month contract as a design engineer at moog-flowtork in Orville, OH. Started with a phone interview with a headhunter. They then sent my info to the manager and set up a second phone interview with them. That second interview with the manager went fine, they asked basic questions and we talked about my resume. I then contacted the headhunter to schedule an onsite interview. It was a really long interview. I met with 4 people and got a plant tour. Overall it was a pleasant experience, but there was one bad apple. It was clear someone was under pressure and made it obvious I wasn't welcome. Disappointing because it seemed like a good opportunity. The company seems to be going through major restructuring, with lots of new employees and managers. Honestly, companies should always do group interviews, it keeps everyone in line and following the rules.

The interview process was entirely remote via video because I was located out of state. I was initially contacted by external recruiters, then by an internal recruiter. There was one full day of video interviews with a panel of interviewers, followed by a couple of shorter interviews on subsequent days.

- I was asked a lot of basic engineering questions that any engineer should know, but there were many and they wanted brief, quick answers.
- Then I was given systems and project problems that I was given time to solve and present within minutes of being presented with the problem.
- Then there were lengthy character questions and general questions to discover what type of person you would be to work with.
