I got this interview through a recruiter, but they did not end up selecting me. The interview was online and straightforward with a mixture of behavioral and technical questions on troubleshooting like what if a user can't get into their outlook or how to add a user in active directory.

I had an interview with Mattress Firm, and it was one of the worst experiences. The interviewer made it clear they have an outdated mentality about work-life balance. They stressed long hours, strict schedules, and an expectation of being always available, with no regard for personal time. The company seems to prioritize getting the most out of employees over a healthy work environment. The conversation felt more like a warning about the job's demands than a discussion about growth or development. They expect total dedication but offer little in return, like fair pay or flexibility. It's disappointing to see this mindset still present. If you value your employees and work-life balance, look elsewhere.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • Are you comfortable with long hours, a strict schedule, and the need to be available all the time, even if it means sacrificing personal time?

Recently had a second interview. The first was a basic recruiter call, more of a get-to-know-you type. The second was with two sales managers, which felt like a good cop/bad cop dynamic. They asked about a challenging sales situation where I didn't close a deal and about my background. I think it went well.

Managers seemed nice enough, but after interviewing, it felt like my race was an issue, and they suggested I transfer to a store 50 miles away where there are more people who look like me. This was a disappointing part of the process. They used a printed worksheet for questions that related to the values on their website. You can expect situational questions.

Confirmed questions5 questions
  • Can you share an instance where you compromised your integrity?
  • Tell me about a time you had a disagreement with a manager.
  • Do you believe in a growth mindset or a fixed mindset?
