Technical Coding

I applied online and then got an email to schedule an interview with a senior employee. The interview started with him discussing the company and then moved into the technical portion. It was mainly OOP questions and pointer manipulation. We used a live notepad website for coding, no IDE, and he would copy-paste my code to test it. The interviewer was nice, but I'm more of a hardware person than a programmer. They required cameras on and didn't record the screen, and I wasn't allowed to write on paper.

Presentation Behavioral

The interview process was long, took about two months, and had many stages. It included a mock presentation and some role-playing scenarios that were hard to prepare for. Most people on the team were nice and helpful, which was good. But, the overall experience had some problems. After the last stages, communication was really bad. I followed up a few times but never got a response, not even a rejection email. This was disappointing for a process that took so much time and effort to prepare for. It would have been nice to get at least an email to show respect for my time. Also, one interview was particularly bad. The hiring manager seemed uninterested, cut the conversation short, and wasn't paying attention. This was different from the other good interactions I had. Because of how much work was involved, better and clearer communication would really improve things. Not hearing back at all makes the company look unprofessional and like they don't respect the commitment candidates make.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

It was a pretty long interview process. First, there was a 30-minute chat with the recruiter. Then, another 30-minute interview with the supervisor of the department. The last round was a 3-hour marathon with several team members, including an assessment I wasn't expecting and a role-play situation. Honestly, it took up so much time and it was a letdown to get through it all and not get an offer. The people I talked to were nice, though.

Behavioral Other

First I had a 45-minute phone chat with HR, then another 45-minute phone chat with the hiring manager. After that, I went in for an in-person interview that was almost seven hours long. It was six interviews back-to-back with eight people total, and I didn't even get a break. The next interviewer was usually waiting right outside the door as the last one was ending, so I had no time to collect my thoughts. This meant I found myself repeating answers and even asking if I'd already told them about certain things, which felt really inefficient and tiring. They did give me lunch though, which was nice.
