Site Reliability Engineer
I applied online and a recruiter contacted me pretty quickly. We had a brief chat, mostly about my availability for the hiring manager. After that, I interviewed with the Engineering Manager, who was cool and seemed to know their stuff. I didn't hear anything after that. Then, the Engineering Manager messaged me asking if I'd heard from HR, which I hadn't. Days later, the recruiter contacted me again asking about my availability for the next interviews. I sent that over right away. That was the last I heard from them. Honestly, the ghosting is pretty bad. Guess I dodged a bullet.
- Can you tell me about your availability to speak with the hiring manager?
- Do you have any questions about the company culture or fit?
Product Designer
I spoke with the recruiter first, who was nice and mentioned the hiring manager was keen to talk to me. The hiring manager's chat was more of a sales pitch for the company than an interview. He asked for my availability, which I sent. Then, radio silence. After a week, I followed up. Apparently, I fell through the cracks, but the hiring manager did want to connect. We scheduled that, and it seemed to go well from my end. I felt a good connection with the hiring manager and was expecting a call back. It's been two weeks now with no updates. I think I've been ghosted. I had mentioned I was pretty far along with another company, but this place was my preference. That's a bummer.
- Could you walk me through your background?
Software Engineering Manager
I applied for the role and then heard back from a recruiter via email. We spoke, and then about two weeks after they said they would, the recruiter got back to me. They passed my resume on to a different team, one I hadn't even applied for, and for a role I'm way overqualified for. It was surprising because it was so different from other recruitment experiences I've had. The role they suggested didn't even match my skills or past jobs. I figured they must have mixed me up with someone else. Overall, it was a pretty bad experience.
- What is your background?
- Can you describe your skillset?
- Could you share your managerial history?
Data Engineer
Be careful interviewing with this company. They will take all your ideas, not sure if they really are hiring. 2 interviews, first interview is with trained corporate psychologist. It's all about the new emotional intelligence. My guess is I was tagged as not emotionally intelligent and therefore flagged to be taken advantage of in the next interview with the hiring manager. I was duped, solicited for free technology consulting. If you have a good resume with interesting technologies, be very careful with this company.
- What does your ideal day look like?
- How do you feel about remote work?
- Tell me about the technologies and processes you know.
