Recruiter
Applied and was contacted the next day for a phone interview. Scheduling was automated, and the recruiter called me on time. Super underwhelmed by the call. She didn't really explain the role in much detail, and asked stacked questions that were unclear and easy to follow. As a recruiter myself, I'd try and make the interview a bit more conversational rather than Q + A to learn about someone's experience. She asked maybe 3 questions and moved on to mine. She seemed bothered to answer and in a rush to get off the phone. 3 days later I got a canned rejection and asked for feedback- no response there. Overall, I'm disappointed in the process/company. I was excited to interview and learn more; don't feel like I did what so ever. Also, the JD talks about perks, benefits, etc. But at the end of our call, the recruiter let me know this was a contract role. Just an FYI for those out there since its advertised differently
- What do you consider to be the core essence of your work?
Technical Recruiter
The process was really quick and smooth, no unexpected turns. A recruiter from InVision reached out to me about a potential role back in late 2015; I couldn't move forward then even though I was super interested, so I was stoked when they started hiring again this spring. After I got back in touch with the first recruiter, I ended up chatting with the head of recruiting and a recruiting coordinator, plus the COO and CTO – all within roughly a week to 8 days. The interviews were all either phone or video calls, and each lasted about 30 minutes. Everyone I spoke with was super friendly and gave me a lot of info. Couldn't have asked for a better experience during such a fast process.
- Can you tell us about your background?
Recruiter
It's your typical interview flow, but be warned: the homework assignment is intense. They want a full-blown strategy and sample candidates. It's a lot, even for today's market. I got the vibe they might be using applicants for ideas, especially since the recruiting team seemed unsure about their own best practices. It felt a bit off, particularly when I got a rejection email just minutes after submitting my work. Strange, right?
- What are your sourcing methods?
- Tell me about a time you faced a difficult situation and how you handled it.
- Can you explain your approach to candidate sourcing?
