Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at InVision.
Marketing
The company recruiter reached out and set up a phone interview. I spoke with the recruiter over the phone. After that, there was a Zoom video interview with the hiring manager. The whole thing took a few weeks.
- What are you hoping to find in your next position?
- What makes you interested in Invision?
Marketing
Applied online and got an email for a phone interview with a recruiter who was very responsive. Then I talked to the hiring manager, which was good. However, the marketing department seemed very siloed and disorganized with too many directors for different things. This structure often leads to conflicting priorities and inefficiency. One of the interviews was with a marketing director who had only been there a few months. It was uncomfortable because she seemed uninterested, didn't like my answers, and was subjective. She also shared that she was recruited heavily for this role, which was odd. She ended the video call by sighing and rolling her eyes, which felt disrespectful given I took time to interview.
- What motivates you to want to work at InVision?
- Can you suggest three ways to enhance InVisionApp's marketing strategy?
Marketing
I interviewed with the VP of Marketing, who then wanted me to speak with the Content Director. The VP asked me a bunch of questions on the role, who must have thought it went well and introduced me to the content director who specifically told me her role was to determine culture fit. Then after that, the VP sent me an email telling me that he was looking for someone with a specific set of experience - which made no sense to me because why bother moving me to the next round.
- What systems are you familiar with?
