I spoke with the recruiter first, who was nice and mentioned the hiring manager was keen to talk to me. The hiring manager's chat was more of a sales pitch for the company than an interview. He asked for my availability, which I sent. Then, radio silence. After a week, I followed up. Apparently, I fell through the cracks, but the hiring manager did want to connect. We scheduled that, and it seemed to go well from my end. I felt a good connection with the hiring manager and was expecting a call back. It's been two weeks now with no updates. I think I've been ghosted. I had mentioned I was pretty far along with another company, but this place was my preference. That's a bummer.
- Could you walk me through your background?

Had a couple of initial calls, then got a paid design task. Sent it back with a video explaining my steps. Then I had another paid design task. Sent that back with a video walkthrough too. A few days later, Marketing called and wanted me to join their team.
- Could you describe your design process?
- What sort of team structures have you worked with?
- Have you done remote work previously?

After applying, a recruiter contacted me. We had some scheduling issues, and I ended up agreeing to an interview on my vacation day. I joined the Zoom call with the hiring manager on my vacation, waited 10 minutes, and then emailed to see if they needed to reschedule. After another 20 minutes, I emailed again to say I could reschedule at their convenience. I never heard back from Invision. I would have appreciated any response, even just to say they changed their minds, rather than complete silence. Overall, my time felt disrespected in this short and disappointing process.
- Was there an opportunity for a discussion?
