First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Intertek.
Microbiologist
I had a 2-stage interview process. The first stage involved creating and presenting a presentation about the work they do for clients, specifically concerning MIC in seawater injection systems, along with some general questions like why I'm interested in the role. They also gave an overview of the position and the company. The second stage was a more casual meeting with the team and a tour of the labs.
- Could you start by introducing yourself and elaborating on your motivation for applying to this position?
- Tell us why you applied for this role.
Chargé affaires réglementaires
I had a first call with HR for about 10-15 minutes to discuss my career goals and what I'm looking for. They also wanted to gauge my experience and personality (strengths/weaknesses) to see if I was a good fit for the role. After that, I had a second interview, a 30-minute video call with the hiring manager, focusing on technical aspects of the job. There was about a week between these two interviews. I heard back about my application roughly 3 weeks after the second interview, but they had let me know this might be the case beforehand. It was a good experience overall, even though I wasn't selected for the position in the end.
- Could you introduce yourself and tell us about your strengths and weaknesses?
- How would you handle various situations that might arise?
- How do you organize your work?
Product Engineer
There were 4 parts to the interview process: First, a 20-minute phone call with HR about your background. Second, a video call with the Team Lead where we discussed who you are, what you've done, why you're interested in the company, what you're looking for, your expectations, and what you bring to the table. Third, an in-person meeting with the Tech Lead and the team where they asked technical questions about ISO standards and your previous work. Finally, a background check and references.
- Can you tell me about your background and what interests you about our company?
- Could you describe your previous experience with standards like ISO 60601?
- What are your thoughts on work-life balance?
Functional Safety Engineer
The hiring manager reached out about 2 weeks after I applied because my resume stood out. I had a panel interview on August 1st with the hiring manager and two team members. They asked about my projects and experience, and also some behavioral questions. I followed up a few times. After the first follow up, they said they were still interviewing. After the second follow up on September 6th, they mentioned they had finished interviewing and were starting the decision process. Since then, it's been silent. I don't think I got the offer, and my application status still says 'under consideration'.
- Can you share an instance where you had to handle a challenging customer?
- Describe your past projects and experience.
