Went through 3 rounds. First was a phone screening, followed by a SME virtual interview. Then finally I had an on-site interview. Overall process was long and I was left waiting a while before knowing anything.

The interview process was pretty standard. It started with a recruiter chat, then I spoke with a more senior manager, and finally, I had a conversation with the hiring manager for the role.

Behavioral Other

I got a call about a job I applied for online at Intertek. The recruiter seemed unsure of what to ask and was super condescending. She asked about the kind of role I wanted and my previous job duties, then cut me off saying 'Do you realize only VPs get to do that here?'. She kept implying I was fired from past jobs, not that I left for my own reasons. After asking about salary expectations, she said 'what's the rock bottom minimum you're willing to accept?'. This question felt really inappropriate. There were awkward silences after my answers, with her sighing heavily. She ended by saying 'well, I'm going to pass your resume along to the hiring manager. I don't know if he'll even want to talk to you. I'll call you back if we're interested'. I found her attitude and questions insulting. Thankfully, I got another job offer two weeks later. I won't apply to Intertek again.
