I had a 30-minute online screening interview. The questions were easy, and the interviewer told me I was doing great and moving to the next phase about 15 minutes into the interview. However, I later got an email saying they wouldn't move forward with my application, and I still don't know the reason why.

The interviews are pretty professional and structured, usually with 2-3 stages. Each round is focused and to the point, and they'll ask you stuff that you should already know. My advice: brush up on the main things mentioned in the job description or any info they sent. The questions will be about your background and what the job needs. Be direct and clear with your answers, no need to ramble unless they ask for more. Prep for each stage since they all have a specific goal – like checking your technical skills, how you behave, and if you're a good fit. Be professional, confident, and polite. Being on time and prepared really helps. Also, have some good questions ready to show you're interested and get the business side.

I was really keen to join Hilti because their values align perfectly with mine and I've heard great things from others. I did my homework and came prepared. Although I applied for an Account Manager role, and have a strong marketing background, the hiring team suggested I might be a better fit for a marketing position and to watch for openings in that area. It felt like they overlooked my potential, despite their own company's messaging about employees coming from diverse backgrounds.

It started with a really quick 15 min phone call, then an in person interview. The in person was about 30-40 minutes total. First, we chatted for about 15-20 mins. Then, there was a 15-20 minute practical part where I had to take apart and then put back together a tool. I got to watch a technician do it first though.
