Started with a quick recruiter chat to get a high-level overview of the job, talk about the hiring path, and ask some basic questions to check my experience level. Then I had a chat with the hiring manager about how my background would work for this role (since it wasn't an exact title match) and mostly for me to ask my questions. The final round involved about 3 quick, back-to-back 15-minute meetings with the department manager and two colleagues where I could ask questions and they could see if I'd be a good culture fit. The interviews themselves weren't tough, but the whole process dragged on for months because of the holidays.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interview process involved an initial phone screen, followed by meetings with the department manager and the creative director. The interviews and phone screen were all pretty chill, with good conversation and relevant questions. It concluded with an assignment where I had to create a campaign themeline and rationale for a made-up promotion, plus a direct mail piece, video scripts, and social media posts for the same campaign.

I applied and then got a link to a survey. After finishing the survey, a recruiter from Highmark got in touch to set up an interview with the hiring manager. We talked for about 30 minutes. It felt like a good chat, and even though I didn't think I was qualified enough, I expected to at least get a rejection email. But I didn't. I even emailed the hiring manager and the recruiter to check in, but heard nothing back. I was totally ghosted by the company, which means I won't be applying there again. It's really disrespectful to treat applicants this way. Makes you wonder how they treat patients.

I had an initial phone chat with the recruiter and it went pretty well. She scheduled an interview with the hiring manager for the following week. I mentioned I was expecting an offer from another company I'd interviewed with the week before. She suggested I inform her if I received an offer, and she'd attempt to expedite the interview scheduled for the next week. Upon receiving the offer, I contacted the recruiter to share the news and hoped to move up my interview to stall for time, but I didn't hear back from her for nearly 3 days. When she finally responded, she mentioned she was 'off site' for 2 days and was only managing emails and calls. Due to the poor communication, I accepted the other offer. It was completely unprofessional and I missed out on an interview and potentially a job I was interested in.
