Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Highmark Health.
Actuarial Analyst
Had a phone interview that seemed to go pretty well. They asked about my background and exams. Nothing too tough. I thought it was good, but then I never heard back, not even a rejection email.
- Can you tell me about your present work?
Actuarial Analyst
The interview process started with a phone interview, and then I met the team members face-to-face for another interview. It was a really comfortable experience with great people. They mainly wanted to understand me, my skills, and my experience. Each interviewer went through my resume and asked specific questions. The whole thing lasted about 4 hours, which felt really long. Luckily, about an hour of that was spent having lunch with some of the younger employees. The company seems really great, and I was pretty bummed I didn't get an offer. I think my lack of experience really hurt my chances.
- What relevant experience do you have from previous jobs?
Actuarial
I talked with two groups of two actuaries each at a university career fair. Both interviews were simple; they asked a mix of behavior questions and questions about my background. All four employees were really nice and helpful. They seemed to care more about personality, work ethic, etc. than deep knowledge about the actuarial career. It was a really good experience.
- What are you most proud of?
