Product Manager
Four months of screening, 1:1, team interview, stakeholder round. I had to initiate follow-up at each stage to confirm I was still in the running. This process felt more like an endurance test than a way to screen for the best candidates, screening more for need, which isn't bad for the person who gets the job, but devastating for those who wasted their effort. The length wasn't the main challenge, but a comment from the stakeholder round stuck with me: 'We wouldn't change anything about what we do.' If that's true, the real question is not if I'm the right candidate, but if the role addresses a real problem or just fills a spot. I was ready to build, but you can't build where there's nothing to fix. The process had potential: a good team, interesting talks, a role with scope on paper. But the experience of moving through it felt like auditioning for a show that wasn't sure it wanted to happen. The delays between stages, the silence, and the burden of follow-up falling on me as the candidate sent a message. I felt like I had to prove my worth to people who hadn't proven the opportunity was worth my time. This is a dynamic I won't normalize, and I suggest you examine it. Top candidates are often interviewing elsewhere, and a slow, unstructured process won't keep them. I wish the team well, but you deserve to know how it felt from my side.

Product Program Manager
Applied in December, got a notice that interviews would be delayed until the New Year due to holidays. Unconventionally, they wanted a task done by Jan 5 as part of the interview process, saying it was optional and could be done later. This task involved analyzing data and creating a synthesis, which I really enjoyed and spent about 10 hours on. Then, on Jan 3, they sent an email stating the Jan 5 deadline was mandatory. On Jan 13, 2026, I received a form email saying no interview would happen. 100 people were asked to do this complex task over Christmas, and out of those who dedicated time, no one would proceed to further steps, including the interview. The criteria they said made candidates stand out matched my submission. No individual feedback or chance to talk to anyone was given. I get that hiring is tough, but misrepresenting the process makes me actively root against them. Using hiring for free consulting like this is not the answer. Candidates are potential customers and humans too. Hope this is a one-off.

The interview process felt long and the steps weren't very clear. Grafana definitely has great tech and really smart people, but their hiring process for sales roles could be more decisive and transparent. It involved multiple interviews and discussions, and they kept adding new steps late in the game even after we had already agreed on things. It felt like we were close to an offer a few times, but then new people or meetings would pop up without a clear reason why they were needed to make a decision. I decided to withdraw because, after several interviews and a challenge, it didn't make sense to keep going without a clear go/no-go decision.

Software Engineer
It was a typical 4 stage interview process. Started with a recruiter chat, then an interview with the hiring manager, followed by a coding assessment, and finally a systems design interview. The whole time they were super responsive and kept me in the loop, which was nice. I was kinda nervous reading some other reviews but didn't run into any of those issues. A good chunk of the behavioral part is to check if you can work on your own and also if you can work well with people in different time zones. The coding part wasn't like LeetCode, it was more about a real-world scenario. Basically, they want to see how you tackle problems and explain your thoughts and issues to others.
- Can you describe how you'd arrange a meeting with someone who's in a different time zone?
