Benefits Coordinator
You'll meet with one of the sales managers for the first round interview. Then, there's a second part where you'll get a deep dive look at the career and compensation. If you're both feeling good about it, they'll set up a third round interview, one-on-one, sometime the following week.
- What makes this opportunity appealing to you?
Sales Agent
It was a very structured interview process. They didn't ask many questions, mostly focusing on the best-case scenario for pay and how one could advance within the company. It seems like no prior experience is necessary. They mentioned having a flexible schedule, but then also stated the schedule would be Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
- What are your goals in working with this company.
Sales Agent
I got a text about a job, but it was for a different company than I thought. Globe Life uses a lot of names, but they told us in the office that the job was actually selling life insurance, with the main goal being to get us to sell a franchise. Some of us there were confused because we thought we applied for something else. While we were waiting, I heard others asking the coordinators if they were selling life insurance, because they thought it was different. It felt a bit like a bait and switch, which I didn't like. The first interview was fast, friendly, and welcoming. The second interview was in a group. They showed a video, and then the interviewer talked to all of us about what they do and how things work. The interviewer said to save questions for later, and also that there would be one-on-one interviews. I think the reason for this was to avoid questions in front of the group because they made working for Globe Life sound really great. I learned a lot, but I wasn't interested. I think not being upfront is a bad sign. My final impression is that this group is shady.
- Can you share an accomplishment that made you proud?
Career Agent
So, a recruiter was hiring for this role, but they were pretty vague about the job itself. When I got there, we started with a group presentation about the company's history and then had to fill out a questionnaire. After that, I had a super quick chat with a supervising agent, like, less than 10 minutes. I figured they were just getting a basic feel for candidates. That same evening, an agency director called me for about a 20-minute talk where they explained the job duties and asked if I could handle the schedule. That seemed to go well enough to get invited for a second interview the next afternoon.
- Can you tell me about your goals?
- Are you able to commit to a 1099, commission-only job with irregular hours?
