Insurance Agent
Got a call from a Liberty National recruiter who found my resume on Monster, asking if I was still looking for a job and mentioning openings for sales, supervising, or insurance agent roles. This was a bit odd since my resume was for biomedical research, and the jobs didn't seem to match my skills. Anyway, she asked about my experience and resume, and I agreed to an interview for the next day because I needed the experience as a first-time job seeker. I did some research and realized I didn't want to work there because I'm definitely not a sales person. But, I went anyway to practice interviewing. I arrived a bit late, signed in, and filled out some paperwork. Shortly after, the manager called me in for a one-on-one. He discussed the company, my resume, why I'd fit in, and what I'm seeking. Because I suspected a pyramid scheme, I inquired about their sales approach, customer base, and the specific role they had in mind. When I asked about the role, he asked what his secretary told me, and I mentioned sales and supervising. He then stated they were hiring sales people and had a system to train inexperienced individuals for success. At that point, I told him I wasn't interested in sales and would prefer supervising. He explained that everyone starts in sales before moving to other positions and ended the interview. No offer was made, but it was a quick and easy experience, which is a plus if you're set on working there.
- Why do you think you'd be a good match for this company?
- What are your thoughts about our sales methods and who we sell to?
- Which position are you hoping to be hired for?
Insurance Agent
The interview process was comfortable and informative, consisting of three interviews with different levels of management. It was a professional dress code, but the atmosphere was relaxing and made me feel comfortable during the interviews.
- What do you seek in a career?
Insurance Agent
The interview process was enjoyable. Despite some negative reviews I've seen, I'm hopeful they're not accurate. It was a two-step process. The first interview, conducted via Zoom, was mainly an informational session, followed by completing a Google Form. If they were impressed, they would reach out to schedule a one-on-one meeting. Be prepared to invest in the pre-licensing course if you're not already licensed. It costs about $50, but they offer a discount since it's usually $200. It's definitely beneficial, and you'll be very well-prepared if you take the course seriously.
