The interview started out pretty standard, but then the interviewer got unprofessional. He started talking about how females and males are capable or incapable of doing the job, and some of what he said was understandable, but the way he phrased it was really insensitive. He also asked about my GPA, which is fine, but he asked it in a really unprofessional and insensitive way too.

The interview covered fundamental semiconductor devices, starting from diodes and progressing to MOSFETs. They also asked some basic circuit questions. It was a pretty relaxed atmosphere. I got through two rounds, but ultimately, I wasn't selected because my resume didn't quite match what they were looking for.

I had two interviewers for this role. One of them, who was in a more junior position, kept sighing, probably because I wasn't the candidate they had in mind. Even though I gave it my best shot, his reaction bothered me. Since I'm new to the professional world, I noticed they care more about what you learned in school and how you'll apply it, rather than skills from previous jobs. Clearly, just experience isn't enough for them.

It wasn't really like a formal interview, more like going in with confidence and not being afraid. It ended up being more conversational. The main thing is not to seem nervous or scared. We talked about the company and I asked the interviewer about his experience working there, especially focusing on what a typical day is like for interns at GlobalFoundries.
