First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at GlobalFoundries.
Principal Engineer
It started with a call from the hiring manager to go over my CV. Then, the hiring manager set up two technical interviews with the team. We covered MOS device physics in the technical rounds.
- Could you tell me about your previous projects?
- What do you know about MOS device physics?
Principal Engineer
This was a pretty easy interview process because they're looking to hire more people and are relaxing their requirements. They might even offer a higher position to draw in external candidates. Make sure to negotiate well before accepting the offer, as internal opportunities are scarce after you join.

Principal Engineer
The interview process began with a couple of phone interviews, first with the Hiring Manager, then a technical interview. After that, I was invited to their Malta Office for a 6-hour interview process. It was structured into several rounds: Round 1 was a basic Java interview, seemingly for fresh graduates, not focusing on new tech. Round 2 was a general technical interview, quite open-ended. Round 3 was a Manager interview focusing on background and scenarios. Round 4 was a high-level interview where they discussed current issues they're facing. Round 5 was with a Senior Manager. Finally, Round 6 was an HR interview, which felt like they were assessing long-term commitment.
- What's your motivation for seeking a new role?
- What attracts you to relocating to Albany?
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
