I had a great chat with the manager, who was super friendly. They asked me some technical questions and told me more about the job. Although they ultimately decided not to extend an offer, the manager was kind enough to provide some useful feedback rather than just going silent.

I applied on the GlobalFoundries website and then the hiring manager emailed me for an initial phone screening. It was mostly about my background and experience. After that, I got a coding challenge. Since I passed the coding challenge, I was called for an onsite interview in Vermont. This interview was about 2.5 hours long and included discussing my resume, white-boarding, and some behavioral questions. They also talked about their team and let me ask questions. They had a really friendly way of interviewing and even gave me hints on how to approach the problems. Exactly one week after the interview, they emailed me to let me know I got the job. The entire process took about 3 months.

Behavioral Technical

I applied online, and then a recruiter reached out. They asked me some basic stuff about my experience, what I'm looking for salary-wise, and if I'd relocate. After that, I had a technical interview with the hiring manager over the phone. They were super knowledgeable and friendly, with a really deep understanding of things. The whole thing felt a bit rushed though, only an hour, and I didn't even get to ask them any questions, so it was pretty one-sided.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Tell me about your background to explore your knowledge depth and breadth.
  • How do you understand core concepts?
  • How detail-oriented are you?
