Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at GlobalFoundries.
Equipment Engineer
First, TA will call for initial suitability check. And if they feel satisfied with your background and suitability, then they will come back with a schedule for an interview with the hiring manager. Sometimes interviews can be two technical interviews with the hiring manager and HOD.
- Can you tell me what you know about Globalfoundries?
Project Engineer
I had two interviewers for this role. One of them, who was in a more junior position, kept sighing, probably because I wasn't the candidate they had in mind. Even though I gave it my best shot, his reaction bothered me. Since I'm new to the professional world, I noticed they care more about what you learned in school and how you'll apply it, rather than skills from previous jobs. Clearly, just experience isn't enough for them.
- Could you start by telling me about yourself?
Senior Engineer
Expect a friendly atmosphere with a duration of an hour. The aim is to assess your comprehension of fundamental Semiconductor Physics and Fabrication concepts. Technical round followed by Manager followed by HR.
- In detail, explain Diode, BJT, and MOSFET.
- Detail the fabrication processes.
- What are the basics of chip fabrication?
