First, an HR screening to chat about your background, career aspirations, and what kind of work environment you're looking for. They'll also go over salary expectations and when you'd be available to start. Then, a technical interview focusing on RPGLE, CL, COBOL, SQL, and IBM i concepts. Expect scenario-based questions about troubleshooting, automation, and production support, and you might need to discuss past projects or system fixes. Behavioral Case

I applied for a specific sales role but during the initial call the recruiter told me that this role is below my salary expectations so she told me 'we're sorry' but after a day or so, i was contacted by her because she spoke about my CV to the CRO who had plans to start a new sales team. From there we had a number of discussions with the CRO and other execs. I had to do some assesments and after a short period they came with a proposal which I accepted. The whole process took about 6 weeks.

The interview process went pretty well. It began with an initial phone screening asking about my background and interest in the role. Following that, I completed a technical assessment, which was challenging but doable. Next, I went through two interview rounds. The first focused on technical skills, and the second assessed my cultural fit. The team was friendly and made me feel comfortable. Overall, it went smoothly, and I feel positive about the result.

The interview process consisted of three rounds. I successfully passed the first round, which focused on my resume and past projects. The second round was similar in nature, but the interviewer was unsatisfied with my responses, particularly regarding flat file transfers in a banking domain. Despite my best efforts to provide a well-reasoned answer with an example, she remained unconvinced, leading to my failure to advance. The interviewer seemed to disregard technical terms and my answers, possibly due to a misunderstanding of the differences between ETL and manual testing. If I were not a suitable candidate, I wouldn't have been selected in the first round.

  • What are the basics of manual testing?
  • Can you tell me about your resume and projects?
  • Regarding your experience in the banking domain, could you explain why you would transfer flat files from source to target?
