Programmer Analyst
This was a really bad experience with a recruiter from Apex Systems. The communication was all over the place and unprofessional from the beginning. They sent me a job description that seemed to fit my skills, so I sent my CV. But then during a phone call, I found out it was actually a senior role, which they never mentioned in the description, wasting my time. Then, the recruiter kept calling without leaving messages or emails, so I didn't even know who it was. I called back, no answer. I emailed to set up a time, no response. But they kept calling anyway. When we finally talked, they just said my CV wasn't going to be considered because I wasn't senior enough. I was okay with that, but when I called back later to ask some questions, it was clear they were confused and not paying attention. The recruiter mixed up what I was asking, kept bringing up a role we'd already decided wasn't a fit, and didn't seem to follow along. I gave some feedback: send rejection updates by email, not random calls, and include required experience in job descriptions to save everyone time. Instead of listening, the recruiter got cold and started asking about my CV gaps in a weird, judgmental way, even though it wasn't relevant to why I didn't get the role. The call ended super abruptly and unprofessionally. After I explained my side, the recruiter just said, 'Okay, what I will do is that I will not contact you again,' and hung up. It was a total lack of basic communication, no transparency in the job description, and they couldn't handle feedback. Would I recommend them? Nope. The communication problems and unprofessionalism made this a terrible experience.

People Operations Associate
I interviewed through Apex Systems for a People Operations Specialist contract role supporting the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. The initial communication was quick and friendly, and the recruiter moved the process forward efficiently at the start. The opportunity itself seemed exciting and meaningful. However, after the final interview with the VP at the client, communication stopped abruptly. I sent two follow-up emails to check on the status, but the recruiter never replied. There was no update on whether the position was filled or the process was paused, just complete silence. It was disappointing after investing time in multiple interview rounds. I understand that hiring processes can be unpredictable, especially around the holidays, but clear communication, even a short 'no update yet,' goes a long way. My experience may not represent everyone's, but I hope the team improves transparency and follow-through with candidates moving forward. Advice to management: Encourage recruiters to send brief status updates, even if there's no decision yet. It makes a huge difference in the candidate experience.

Account Manager
The company is very structured and the people are genuinely amazing. I went through 3 rounds of interviews. I spoke with the recruiter, the hiring manager, and a member of the leadership team. Everyone I spoke with was super accommodating, respectful, and thoughtful. It was a really positive experience. I declined because I couldn't commit to the start date due to an emergency requiring international travel. Also, the 10 days PTO in the first year wasn't ideal for me.
- Could you describe your sales background and what drives you in a sales position?
Senior QA Engineer
A recruiter from Apex reached out on LinkedIn and we scheduled a call a few days later. This was a general screening call where we talked about my experience, the contract role, and the client. After that, a technical interview was scheduled, but it didn't happen because I had some personal issues and had to reschedule. The interviewer canceled the interview, and then there was silence. It feels like a two-way street, and interviewers shouldn't reschedule last minute. If there's no flexibility for candidates, it's a red flag. So, no thanks, and I'll avoid Apex in the future.
