So the first step was a chat with the manager, which was pretty chill and a good way to get a feel for the role and the team. Then, I had two back-to-back interviews. The first was a technical one, pretty intense and process-focused, lasting about 2 hours. The last interview was with someone totally outside my team and not in my area, which I thought was smart. It let us both focus on how I'd fit into Dojo more generally.

The interview experience was super positive! Everything was really well organized, and they kept me in the loop at every step. The interviewers were cool, friendly, and seemed genuinely curious about my background and what I've done. The questions they asked made sense for the job and gave me a good chance to talk about my skills and projects. I also liked that they made time to answer my questions and give me a feel for the team, what they expect, and the company vibe. All in all, it felt like a fair and open process, and I came away with a great impression of the company.

So first I chatted with Warren from Talent Acquisition to get a feel for the role and Dojo, and to share my aspirations and motivations. Then, I had a chat with the hiring manager and another HR person; it was super chill and conversational. After that, I got a quick 10-minute take-home task to see what the job is like. The final step was an interview with two more senior HR folks. The whole thing felt really focused on getting to know me, my skills, and my experience to see if I'd be a good fit. It was also a great way to learn about Dojo and the impact I could have. Warren was awesome, my main contact, always giving me quick feedback and encouraging me. I'd definitely recommend applying to Dojo; the process was super organized and a good way to learn about the business and let them get to know you.

The recruitment process was really disappointing. After the initial phone screen with the recruiter, I had to wait over a month for the technical interview. That interview was super unprofessional, honestly one of the worst I've experienced. When I joined the Google Meet, the interviewers didn't even introduce themselves and just started firing questions at me. I was so taken aback by the unusual approach that my nerves got the better of me. For future interviews, it would be great to have some kind of 'icebreaker' since it's a stressful process, especially with live coding involved. After 10 days of silence, I had to reach out for feedback.
