I had a scheduled HR call in the morning. The interviewer didn't show up. I followed up by email but got no response. There are better ways to handle this. It's very inconsiderate to applicants.

I applied through Gumtree and a consultant contacted me to give me more details about the role and responsibilities. The job mainly involves attending their monthly 5-day sales event, which is mandatory. They provide free materials like personalized business cards and flyers for all BDMs after the event. The next step was a phone interview with the Regional Sales Manager. We talked about my experience in self-motivated sales roles without supervision. We also discussed how my past work and business experience made me a good fit. We spent a lot of time discussing the benefits of consultative selling, our target market, and the earning potential.

Had a quick chat on the phone about past experience, sales figures, and a quick rundown of the company, how it operates, and the commission structure. They were upfront that you'll need to source your own leads at first, and while payments are fast, the beginning can be a bit stressful. Once you hit £16,000 in sales over 3 months, your commission jumps to 20%, and you'll get access to pre-made leads and ongoing trail commission.
