It was pretty straightforward, and they communicated well. Started with a screening, then a zoom call, and finally an in-person interview. They told me to expect an offer after the third round, which was the in-person one. I asked interviewers what they liked about Deltek, and most of them mentioned the people and how the company treats them. I can confirm this is true now that I'm an employee. It's a good company.

My resume got shortlisted for the Competitive Intelligence Analyst role, and I got a call from HR unexpectedly. We had a quick 20-minute phone call. They mentioned a follow-up HR round with a senior person the next day and two technical rounds after that, but none of these actually happened. I tried reaching out multiple times through calls and LinkedIn, but never heard back. While I get that not every candidate fits, it would have been nice to get an update. A prompt closure would have been appreciated, you know, because this lack of response really says something about how they handle candidates.

The interview process lasted 8 weeks. It started with a recruiter reaching out in early April 2025. The initial recruiter call was casual, but the interviewer didn't have a clear plan for the process, saying it would be 2-4 interviews based on availability. I was told I was a good fit, but it took almost 4 weeks to get an interview with the Hiring Manager. That interview got canceled the day of, but we rescheduled. The manager mentioned 1-2 more interviews depending on who was free. This interview went well, and the recruiter later confirmed I'd move to a Panel Interview. I tried to be flexible with scheduling due to the previous delays, which the recruiter acknowledged. Ultimately, I was informed the job posting was closed because they decided to outsource the role to the Philippines. This contradicts what I heard in the interview – that they needed a US-based employee due to time zone issues with the Philippine team working nights. It's possible this decision was out of their control, but it was disappointing to wait 8 weeks for this outcome.

The interview process had 4 interviews. It started with a panel technical interview that included an assessment. After that, there was another technical interview with the lead QA. Then, a final interview with the director. They asked the same questions repeatedly, and the whole process took nearly 2 months. It was strange that they still asked technical questions at the director level. They also asked about years of experience with a specific tool, which they should have already known from the resume and previous interviews. It was a huge waste of time and led to false hope for applicants. I hope their recruiting process changes to be better.
