First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Deltek.
Senior Consultant
The interview process lasted 8 weeks. It started with a recruiter reaching out in early April 2025. The initial recruiter call was casual, but the interviewer didn't have a clear plan for the process, saying it would be 2-4 interviews based on availability. I was told I was a good fit, but it took almost 4 weeks to get an interview with the Hiring Manager. That interview got canceled the day of, but we rescheduled. The manager mentioned 1-2 more interviews depending on who was free. This interview went well, and the recruiter later confirmed I'd move to a Panel Interview. I tried to be flexible with scheduling due to the previous delays, which the recruiter acknowledged. Ultimately, I was informed the job posting was closed because they decided to outsource the role to the Philippines. This contradicts what I heard in the interview – that they needed a US-based employee due to time zone issues with the Philippine team working nights. It's possible this decision was out of their control, but it was disappointing to wait 8 weeks for this outcome.

It was a really quick process. Started with a recruiter call. Then I had three interviews back-to-back: one with a Senior Consultant, then the Manager, and finally the Director. They scheduled two interviews on the same day and the last one for the next day.
- Could you tell me about your greatest strength?
- What would you consider to be your biggest weakness?
Consultant
I found the job on a third-party site and then paid for my own travel and hotel to get to the interview. The interviewers looked at my resume and said I wasn't qualified for the job. They suggested I consider a different role with a lower salary. I said I was interested and answered their questions, but they quickly ended the interview. I never got a call or even a thank you saying they weren't interested. It felt like a really shady process.
- Can you tell me why you're interested in working for our company?
- What makes you confident that you can succeed in a sophisticated environment like ours?
