The interview process for the Valuation Analyst position at Deloitte was broken down into several stages. After an initial contact from HR, I had a first interview that mainly focused on my experience, my motivations, and my general understanding of the role. Then, I had a more technical interview with team members. During this stage, I was asked technical questions about company valuation (like DCF methods, multiples, WACC, basic corporate finance principles) and some questions about Excel and valuation models. Besides technical questions, I was also asked reasoning and problem-solving questions, designed to assess analytical skills and speed in finding logical solutions. Overall, the process was structured, professional, and aimed at evaluating both quantitative skills and the candidate's way of thinking.

I had to do this coding project on Palantir Foundry to show I knew the platform. It was like building an ETL pipeline and was a take home assignment that I could take a few days to do. Then I had a technical interview with a manager, and after that a behavioral interview with a Principal. They were pretty easy, just talking about why you'd use certain tech, stuff you did before, and problems you had.
