Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Deloitte.
Analyst
This was the worst interview experience. It felt like the process was biased towards female candidates. The role had two stages: an exam and an interview. The interviewer asked me basic aptitude questions and about my projects. My female friend was asked the same questions but couldn't answer them. She was then asked to write a basic reverse-string code, which she didn't complete, but she still got the job.
- Can you describe a project where you resolved a challenging issue using data analysis or automation?
- Tell me about your projects.
- Do you have any general aptitude questions?
Support Analyst
The interview was very clear and concise. They provided a comprehensive explanation of the role, salary, benefits, and how things work. We discussed what to focus on in the first 90 days after hiring and which projects should be prioritized since it was an in-house account transition.
- What are your expectations for professional growth within the company?
Summer Analyst
It was a really straightforward process - just one interview lasting about an hour. It mostly focused on my personality and skills, digging into my past experiences from school and university. There weren't any technical questions, but it wrapped up with some questions about how to boost profitability in various industries.
- Can you give an example of when you showed good communication skills?
- What strategies would you propose to improve profitability within specific industries?
