First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Deloitte.
Data Engineer
I had to do this coding project on Palantir Foundry to show I knew the platform. It was like building an ETL pipeline and was a take home assignment that I could take a few days to do. Then I had a technical interview with a manager, and after that a behavioral interview with a Principal. They were pretty easy, just talking about why you'd use certain tech, stuff you did before, and problems you had.
- Given a txt dataset, could you write code to parse it, put it into datasets, and then use that data to produce visualizations of trends, etc?
- Can you discuss why you'd use certain technologies?
- Tell me about projects you've done in the past.
Data Engineer
The interviewer seemed uninterested in my introduction and immediately jumped into scenario-based questions about Azure Data Factory (ADF). Despite my 2+ years of experience, they expected answers suitable for someone with 4+ years of experience, which was quite disappointing and demotivating.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Data Engineer
First, there was a brief introductory phone call. Then, I completed a Python test and an English test on an online platform. After that, I had a 30-minute chat with HR, followed by an interview with a Manager and a Technical person. Finally, if everything goes well, they'll make an offer for the position.
