First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Delhivery.
Backend Engineer
So, the interview started with us introducing ourselves. I talked about my background, skills, and what I've worked on, and the interviewer gave a quick rundown of their job at Delhivery and what the interview would be like. Then, they shared a Google Doc with some SQL problems for me to solve right there. It was all about writing queries with JOIN, GROUP BY, and filters for practical data retrieval. After SQL, we covered some Computer Networks stuff. Then came a DSA question, a medium one that needed binary search and two pointers. I had to explain my idea, walk through the logic step-by-step, and then code it. To wrap up, they asked if I had any questions, and I asked a couple about the role and the team.
- Can you explain the OSI Model, focusing on the purpose of each layer and providing examples for each?
- Describe the complete process of how a URL works when you type it into your browser and expect to see a webpage, including steps like DNS lookup, TCP handshake, and HTTP request/response.
Manager
The interview process is pretty good and very qualitative. First, there's a take-home assignment that's quite easy and can be tackled with simple reasoning and quantitative skills. This is followed by one or two technical interviews where basic knowledge of logistics is expected. Finally, there's an interview with the head of the department to clarify basic expectations, and an HR round for salary negotiation and discussion of the joining date.
- Can you define what logistics is?
- What are your ideas on improving India's logistics transport services?
- Who are considered the main competitors of this company?
Senior Software Engineer
So the HR team didn't really give me much info about what was coming up, like what kind of rounds or even a clear job description for the next step. And after the interview, they ghosted me, no replies to emails or calls when I asked for feedback. I mean, people work hard to prep, so some constructive feedback would be nice, right? The interview itself was a bust. The guy was super disrespectful and unprofessional, felt like he was trying to get in my head rather than see what I could do. The questions were okay, mostly situational, but he was super strict, wanted exact answers like he had in his head, no room for other ideas or cool ways of doing things.
- Tell me about database indexing.
- What do you know about Elasticsearch?
- How do you handle API security?
Devops Engineer
So, the whole process was like, three technical rounds, each an hour long. After that, I had a call with the talent acquisition team to talk about salary. I passed all the tech rounds, then they asked for my sensitive stuff like payslips, current offer letter, and mark sheets. I sent them in, and then they just went silent for a week. I reached out, and they said wait two more days for a salary discussion call. The call eventually happened after three days, we chatted about salary for about 20-25 mins. We agreed on a number and they promised the offer letter within a week. But then, nothing. I followed up again, and they just straight up told me they dropped my application, no explanation, not even an email. Total waste of time, seriously. Don't bother with this company.
- Could you answer some basic questions about networking?
- Can you discuss some cloud-related topics?
- Could you write some Terraform scripts?
