First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Delhivery.
Data Scientist
I was contacted by HR on LinkedIn for the interview. The process involved: first, an exploratory call with the hiring manager; second, a take-home assignment (1 page PDF, no code required); third, an interview with a junior resource about the assignment. This interviewer seemed junior in experience and the interview quality was subpar. They mainly checked if I could explain the assignment, my experience, and a straightforward sample problem. Fourth, an interview with the hiring manager where the questions seemed random, and the interviewer ended the 60-minute interview after only 20 minutes. I wasn't given any notification about rejection or feedback.
- Regarding the assignment, how would you approach solving for Last Mile delivery routing?
- For clustering points with given coordinates, describe a method where any two points within a cluster do not exceed a specific distance threshold.
- If you tested positive for COVID, what is the probability that you actually have it?
Data Scientist
This was one of the worst interview experiences I've ever had. The HR person wasn't honest about the interviews and only shared the results weeks later. The team lead also lied about my role on the team. I found out they were lying about multiple things from other team members and my offer letter. I really feel like I wasted a lot of my time talking to them.
- Can you tell me a little about yourself?
Data Scientist
First, a telephonic interview where we discussed past projects and the interviewer shared some problems the Delhivery DS team is tackling. Then, a coding challenge involving a simple data science problem solvable in 2-3 days, which was quite interesting. After that, an on-site interview with two main rounds and one minor round. The first main round covered core statistics, machine learning, and OR concepts, and included a discussion on how I'd approach case studies related to the company's work. The second main round was a deep dive into my coding assignment approaches. The minor round was with HR to talk about my expectations and the company. Finally, there was an on-site management interview with a senior management member, focusing on high-level data science discussions and my general problem-solving attitude.
- Given historical data, how would you estimate the travel time between two points at a specific time of day?
