The interview process started with a 45-minute phone call with the recruiter where they asked about my background and behavioral questions, taking lots of notes. Next was a panel interview with other Facility Administrators and Group Facility Administrators. It was all behavioral questions, mostly about how I've handled situations in the past. They had my resume and the recruiter's notes, so it was important to be thorough. Then, I had an interview with the Regional Director. She asked behavioral questions and wanted to understand my grasp of the business side of the role. After that, I did a shadow day at the facility with the Regional Director and the acting Facility Administrator. I got a tour and met some staff. It's good to have questions and get one-on-one time with the Regional Director if they're there. Finally, there was an intense interview with the VP and Director of Persons. They asked behavioral questions but really dug into my thought process, the 'why' and 'how' behind my decisions. They also focused on my weaknesses and how I plan to improve.

Behavioral Technical

I applied to DaVita even after seeing many negative reviews from current and former employees, hoping my experience would be different. Unfortunately, it confirmed what I had already read. I tried to be as flexible as possible throughout the hiring process. After the first interview and a 1.5-hour job shadow (which made me think I was moving forward), I was told they were selecting another candidate because I wasn't flexible to float around to different clinics. I had clearly stated to the manager that I was willing to travel to other clinics if needed. Despite that, this explanation felt inconsistent with what I had communicated from the beginning. The lack of transparency and clear communication made the entire process feel unprofessional and misleading. I invested my time and effort based on expectations they set, only to be given a reason that didn't align with the facts. If you are considering applying here, I would advise looking into other dialysis companies first.

Behavioral Presentation Case

I interviewed for a Senior Manager role that required relocation, but found out relocation assistance was only for executives. Then it got intense: several panel interviews, a meeting with a senior exec, and a full case study where I had to build a 40-minute presentation from scratch, unpaid. If they liked that, I'd have another interview. When I questioned the unpaid work and time commitment, the hiring manager got defensive. The process felt exploitative, like they were using candidate labor for consulting work without pay or respect. Just wanted to let others know to be careful if you value your time and expertise, because some places treat candidates like collaborators, not free labor.

Behavioral

I applied and a week later had a phone interview with the recruiter. She didn't seem to know much about the role and just asked typical questions like "tell me about your experience." It's hard to have a conversation about how my experience relates to the role if she doesn't know anything about it. The interview was only 30 minutes. She said she'd talk to the hiring manager and get back to me about scheduling another interview, but the date she gave passed and I had to reach out to follow up. A day after I followed up, I got a standard HR email saying I wasn't selected.
