& Process

The interview process was pretty straightforward and professional, everything was well-organized. It kicked off with an HR screening call where they just checked my background, why I was interested in Dataminr, and if I got their mission. The recruiter was nice and let me know what to expect next. After that, I had a technical interview focused on cybersecurity knowledge and situational awareness. They asked about general cyber concepts like threat intelligence, incident response, and new threats, and also gave me practical scenarios to see how I'd think under pressure and deal with real events. They also threw in some behavioral questions to check my communication, teamwork, and how I handle urgent incidents. The interviewers were smart but cool about it – they seemed to want people who are good at both tech stuff and critical thinking/analyzing situations. Overall, it was professional, quick, and made me think. I liked how they balanced the technical side with checking if I'd fit in.

It was a 7-round process, and the people were nice, but ultimately no offer. I really enjoyed the interactions, though I felt it took a bit too long. For the Marketing Data Analyst job, the interviews were pretty thorough, covering technical, situational, and strategic stuff. The first few rounds were about my background, why I was interested, and how I'd handle certain situations. Later on, we got into data integration, attribution, campaign analysis, and some practical tech tests. The technical part, which was a take-home assignment, let me show how I'd fix declining performance, combine data from different sources, and make sure reporting was accurate. We also talked about motivation, leadership, and improving processes, stressing flexibility and strategic thinking. All in all, the interviews were tough but good, showing me what I'm good at and where I can improve. I even talked to multiple VPs and the CMO.

I had a first interview that went really well, followed by a test that I also aced. Then, I interviewed with a Senior Director, which also went great, and I had all the required skills, but ultimately I was rejected. I was confused and asked for feedback but never got any. It was really hard to get in touch with anyone, and the person who could help just pointed me to HR, who never responded. I'd suggest the company and its hires put more effort into responding to emails and making it easier to communicate with the interviewers.

Recruiter call: The recruiter communicated steps in the recruiting process that differed from what actually happened. My suggestion would be for them to align on this info before sharing it with candidates. HM/Team call: I felt the HM had a judgmental air about them based on their questions. It also felt like they were trying to get information for their own work needs. Overall, the Dataminr team's processes are outdated. I emailed the recruiter but didn't get a quick response. They can't answer a simple question in a timely manner. They make remote workers look bad with their lazy attitude. The disqualification process is incredibly slow. I knew I wasn't being considered by day 3, so they should just send the rejection email. If I heard from them now, it would be a 'No' because they are too slow.
