I interviewed with about 6 companies and dataminr was the absolute worst and rudest. Started off with a call with HR who was late. Then she rushed me and seemed not to care at all about anything I was saying. Then I moved on to the first tech round. Off the bat, one of the interviewers was very cold and unwelcoming. I'm not sure if I had done something to make her not like me, but I could tell she was hostile towards me. I was then asked the problem. She botched explaining it. Almost as if she wasn't prepared. I asked clarifying questions and once I understood what she was trying to say, it was easy and I was able to solve it. Afterwards, again, she seemed very disinterested and rushed through the discussion part. Right after that call I had decided I did not want to work there. My experience with 2/3 people was awful and rude.

First, I had a phone call with the recruiter. We discussed my background, the job details, and salary expectations. Then, I was given a take-home coding challenge, which I submitted in mid-December. I reached out to the recruiter in early January for an update and to see if a code review interview would be set up. I didn't hear back. Later, I got a generic email saying the process was over. I messaged the recruiter again for feedback on why, but still no response. The communication and organization were really poor. I definitely wouldn't recommend applying here.

The recruiters were really professional, spoke well, and were accommodating. First, there was a preliminary screening, then a technical screening over the phone. The technical screening focused a lot on machine learning and data mining concepts. The problem was hard (NP-hard), and they didn't expect me to solve it fully, just to see how I approach problems. I think I did okay, but I didn't move on to the on-site. I guess it's because I don't have much experience with machine learning.
