First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Clyde & Co.
Summer Vacation Scheme
After getting past the initial online application, I had to do pre-recorded video interviews. There were five questions in total. The first four were situational, where I had to look at fake emails and video calls and then say how I would handle things. The last question was asking about my interest in Clyde&Co.
- How would you respond to the given scenarios involving faux emails and video calls?
- Why are you interested in Clyde&Co?
Business Development Coordinator
This company's hiring process is a mess. Recruiters didn't even know how long the job ad had been up and asked me for the info. There was no clear timeline for hiring at any point, even after several interviews. I followed up multiple times and got ignored. It's wild that companies still ghost candidates in 2025. This process is unclear, slow, and unprofessional.
- What are your long-term career aspirations over the next five years?
Paralegal
The interview was conducted over Teams with the department partners. I felt condescended to and patronized because I'm a young woman and they are older men. They immediately criticized me and made me feel like I wasn't a serious candidate, wasting my time. Even though I have 7 years of senior-level experience in the exact same specific case types as the role I applied for, they said it was irrelevant and didn't matter. They found fault with every technical question I answered correctly. At the end, I told them to remove me from consideration since it was obvious I wouldn't be chosen and that wasting an hour of my workday was offensive, especially them dismissing my award-winning experience. They responded with embarrassed laughs, calling it banter and gaslighting me into thinking it was normal. This was the most bullying interview experience I've ever had, and I won't apply to Clyde&Co again.
- How does your experience relate to this role?
- What makes your background a good fit?
- Could you explain the relevance of your past work to this position?
Associate Attorney
The interview was held virtually and was a positive experience. The interviewers were knowledgeable and open about the job expectations and the firm's atmosphere. They mentioned that the firm operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring three days in the office. It was not clear which department needed an additional attorney, and it seemed unlikely that either interviewer would be the direct supervisor for this position. I sent a follow-up thank you email to both individuals, but I haven't received any communication from them or the firm since.
- Can you tell me about the areas of law you have the most experience with?
