Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Clyde & Co.
Paralegal
The interview was conducted over Teams with the department partners. I felt condescended to and patronized because I'm a young woman and they are older men. They immediately criticized me and made me feel like I wasn't a serious candidate, wasting my time. Even though I have 7 years of senior-level experience in the exact same specific case types as the role I applied for, they said it was irrelevant and didn't matter. They found fault with every technical question I answered correctly. At the end, I told them to remove me from consideration since it was obvious I wouldn't be chosen and that wasting an hour of my workday was offensive, especially them dismissing my award-winning experience. They responded with embarrassed laughs, calling it banter and gaslighting me into thinking it was normal. This was the most bullying interview experience I've ever had, and I won't apply to Clyde&Co again.

Legal Intern
The interview process was smooth, there were a few basic questions before they got into the behavioral questions and then finished with some questions about soft skills. At the end, it would be recommended to ask some questions to the interviewer.
- In your opinion, what makes you a suitable candidate for this position?
Legal Assistant
I was really excited about the legal assistant job. I got told three times that the interviewer liked me and I was moving on. But after four interviews -- one phone and three Teams with four different people at four different times -- I got ghosted. I was really interested and hopeful after those four interviews. I emailed to ask if a decision was made, but no response. I called the recruiter and left a voicemail, still no response. I sent a few more emails. Nothing. Then I emailed someone in HR. Still nothing. I emailed weekly, thinking maybe because it was the holidays, they just hadn't decided. Weeks passed with no reply, except once when she said they were still interviewing and she'd update me. That never happened. It would have been so easy to just send a quick sentence saying they picked someone else or I wasn't a fit. But I still see the ad, so I guess it's the latter. Not hearing back after I followed up multiple times is honestly disrespectful and unprofessional. It makes me wonder how employees are treated there. Such a waste of my time, like five hours I can't get back.
