I started with a 30-minute phone screening with the campus recruiter. After passing that, I had an in-person interview at the local office with a senior tax associate and a tax director. It was pretty informal, and they didn't even ask me to introduce myself. The questions were a bit all over the place, which was a little confusing.

Behavioral

Even though I didn't have any accounting experience, the interview process was surprisingly easy! It started with a 30-minute Teams call with the recruiter. A couple of weeks later, I had an hour-long interview with two directors. They were very approachable and asked pretty standard questions about my past experiences and skills, nothing too technical. The entire process took about a month.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

There was a recruiter screen, a hiring manager interview, and then a peer and executive interview. The problem is, they're not even sure what they want this role to do. The whole process was super ambiguous and disorganized. On top of that, the pay is low, no bonus, and it basically feels like a sales job. If you like wasting 4-5 weeks talking to people, go for it. Just remember, jobs with tons of applicants that get reposted are usually more about ego and a team that has no clue what they need, not about finding the right person.

Behavioral Technical

The interview process was super fast and smooth, stages moved quickly. I didn't have to wait long for any answers, which felt like they really valued my time and kept things moving. The interviews had the usual mix of behavioral and technical questions. What was cool though was how much they seemed to want to get to know me personally. Everyone I talked to tried to see who I was beyond just my resume, asking stuff about my values, goals, and personality. It felt more like a chat than a job interview, and it seemed like they cared about building a real team. All in all, the quick communication and the genuine interest in me made it a good experience. I would have joined if it wasn't for some external things.
