The CIBC Business System Analyst interview is pretty short, like 15-20 mins. First, they'll do some admin stuff like asking about workplace accommodations, if you're legally able to work in Canada, and if you're okay with background checks. Then, the main part is answering six questions that need longer answers. These questions are about why you're interested in the job, your past work and school stuff, how you solve tricky problems, how you make processes better, how you handle your time, and how you make sure your work is right. After that, you get to ask questions. They usually let you know about a second interview within a week.

So, first I had a quick chat with a recruiter to go over my resume, why I'm into cybersecurity, and when I'm free. After that, I did a technical interview with the team lead. It was pretty basic, covering fundamental security ideas, networking stuff, and how I approach problems. The interviewer was chill and it felt more like a chat about what I know and my projects instead of a tough technical exam.

I had a really good time interviewing at CIBC. The interview process was put together well and was very professional. Each person I talked to took their time to explain the job and what they were looking for. I liked that they asked good questions and that I could talk about my technical skills and working with different teams. It all felt organized, like they respected my time, and it showed me they have a good team culture.

The Hiring manager reached out to me before the HR screening call. At first I thought it was a scam, but later when I did the call with HR after my interview with the hiring manager, I found out their pay range was 6k lower than what I was earning. Also, the interview felt like an exam, with questions like 'explain me this term' and 'what is this loan'.
