The whole thing started with a recruiter call, which was pretty rough. The recruiter basically told me all the reasons I wasn't a good fit, not just for CHG but for my job search in general. Even though they were gonna recommend me for a hiring manager interview, they said it was unlikely the manager would even want to talk to me because of these weaknesses. So by the end of that, I was feeling pretty down about my chances with CHG and basically everywhere else. But, I did end up talking to the hiring manager. It was a mix of getting to know each other and some general tech talk. We ended up talking about something that wasn't even in the job description and they said it wouldn't be part of my evaluation. Still, I thought that part went okay, and so did the rest of the interview. Then on Monday, the recruiter called to say I didn't get the job. They said it was because of that exact topic we talked about, the one they said wasn't part of the job or my evaluation. On top of that, they also mentioned the decision was made right after the interview, with no further discussion. I feel like there was a lot of BS about why I got rejected, but the recruiter was the main issue. It's not their job to make me feel good, and maybe they thought they were being transparent, but they could have left out some unhelpful details. Telling a candidate they're unlikely to move forward even though you're recommending them (which makes you wonder why you're even there), that there are a lot of things working against them in their job search, and making it clear that the decision was rushed and thoughtless are things I wouldn't expect. I've spoken with many recruiters, but this is the first one I felt the need to review.

The interview process with CHG Healthcare was great at first. Everyone was friendly and professional. After my last interview, the recruiter told me the team liked me and they were just waiting to give feedback and an offer. I felt good about it. But then, I never heard back. The same people who answered my questions before wouldn't respond even after I followed up. It was disappointing and unprofessional, especially after the good experience before. The start was smooth, but the lack of follow-up feedback left a bad impression. CHG Healthcare should improve post-interview communication to make it a better experience for candidates.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

So the interview was pretty standard. First, a recruiter chat, then I talked to the hiring manager, and after that, there was a panel with three people from the team. The questions were on point for the job, and the recruiter did give me some feedback at the end. But the final feedback was messed up and honestly, pretty concerning. I prepped a lot and used my years of leading big teams, but they straight up accused me of using AI for my answers. Their reason was that my answers were 'too perfect.' It's wild that clear, structured, and knowledgeable answers weren't seen as a good thing, but instead a red flag for the hiring team. What's even worse is they said I didn't answer questions that I actually did answer completely. This makes me think either their note-taking was bad during the panel or they were just trying to build a case for a decision they'd already made. Being called dishonest without any proof is not only unprofessional but also makes you wonder about how fair and mature their interview process is. If a company can't tell the difference between someone who really knows their stuff and AI, they probably don't have what it takes to properly evaluate senior people. My advice for senior candidates: if you're a strong leader with solid tech background and executive communication skills, be careful with this process. There's a risk your abilities might be misunderstood if they don't fit what they expect. This whole thing didn't show me a culture that values excellence or respects professional integrity.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

It started with a phone call from talent acquisition to set up the first interview with them, where we went over my resume and discussed how my skills made me a fit. They mentioned my resume wasn’t typical for them (sad), but I luckily passed. If you do well, you get invited to an interview day with other applicants. You meet with a series of directors/managers, and finish with an interview with your direct supervisor. Mine wanted to get to know me and how I’d fit the culture, and ask why I left my last position. I was also asked how I handle giving and receiving feedback and other standard interview questions. Also, my impression was that they want you to be hungry and money-driven for sales roles, but also to care equally about the mission and helping people.
