Behavioral Technical

I went through a 3-stage selection process for a temporary position. After investing time and effort, I got an automated rejection. I asked for specific feedback for my professional development, but got no response. Later, I tried to contact them about a similar permanent vacancy and there was no communication at all. As a professional in the field, I believe the process has a lot of room for improvement regarding the candidate experience and closing applications that reach the final stages, otherwise, it doesn't encourage repeating in the future. During the interview, the treatment was correct.

Medium complexity technical test (car-pooling challenge), with ambiguous requirements, at least 4 days to complete it. They give you 2 weeks to do it, but it took them almost 3 weeks to give feedback, which I think is disrespectful, because if you are in other selection processes it can condition you whether to continue or not. If they take more than 1 week to give you feedback, forget them! they are probably interviewing another candidate that suits them more and they don't bother to give you feedback just in case the other one falls through.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Technical test: car pooling challenge.
  • Then an algorithms test (yes, in 2026 they still do that) and system design.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

First, there was a CV screening with someone from HR over the phone. Then, I had to complete a technical challenge. After that, I went through 3 onsite interviews, each lasting an hour. Each of these interviews consisted of two parts: some behavioural questions and some technical questions. These technical parts included reviewing the challenge I did, a system design question, and some open-ended scenarios.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Can you share an instance where you proposed an idea that faced significant opposition? What do you think caused the strong resistance, and how did you navigate the negative feedback?
  • Tell me about a time you had an idea that was strongly opposed. Why do you think there was so much resistance, and how did you handle the negative feedback?

The process starts with an initial chat with HR. Then, there's a challenging 2-week take-home assignment with two problems. You submit your solutions (docs, notebooks, etc.), and if they're good, you move on. Next are three 1-hour technical interviews with the data science team, one of which is in English. Each of these interviews includes 30 minutes dedicated to Cabify's principles and competencies, where you'll share experiences applying them. The other 30 minutes involve reviewing your take-home challenge, presenting a past project, or solving a problem they propose with follow-up questions. Lastly, there's a 30-minute session for you to ask questions. It's a demanding process, about medium-high difficulty and quite long (nearly 3 months in my case for phase III results), requiring a lot from the candidate, while the feedback and support from their side were somewhat erratic and inattentive in my experience.

Confirmed questions7 questions
  • Tell me about your background, what interests you, and if you're a good fit, including salary expectations and on-site availability.
  • How would you design a full testing experiment for a new app feature?
  • Write code for an ML classification model using a dataset with geospatial information.
