Engineering Manager
This was one of the longest and most useless interview processes I've encountered. It started with a first contact call, followed by a video call with the HR Recruiter. Then, they sent a written exercise due in one week. If that was approved, the actual interviews began: one hour with two peer-level profiles, another hour discussing the written exercise with two peer-level profiles, and a third hour with two peer-level profiles asking questions. Ultimately, they rejected me after all these steps, even if they might have known I wasn't a good fit from the first interview. I spent over 10 hours on this process, including preparing for a 60-page PDF manual they provided. It was surprising to see people with less experience and seniority than me asking questions in the interviews. My advice: don't waste your time with this company. They seem to think they are a Silicon Valley unicorn, but it's mostly hype. Their client reviews on Trustpilot reveal issues like drivers not showing up and double billing, showing a discrepancy between their hiring process and their actual service quality. Don't waste your time with Cabify.
- They asked too many questions, mostly to delve into your past experiences.
Engineering Manager
The interview involved two main parts. First, a written business case exercise designed to evaluate your leadership and writing abilities. Second, a review of that business case, which also covered system design and management aspects. Some questions focused on my past experiences and work situations, requiring answers using the STAR method.
- What are your thoughts on common questions about managing underperformance, guiding team members, and solving issues?
- Can you share some typical questions concerning low performance, mentoring, and problem resolution?
Engineering Manager
The interview process involved two initial interviews, one with HR and one technical interview, followed by three final interviews conducted consecutively focusing on behavioral aspects and company fit. Although I did not receive an offer, the feedback provided was perplexing. They cited two main issues: firstly, that approximately 12 experiences they inquired about were related to specific circumstances, and two of these experiences I discussed were from over five years ago. Secondly, the outcomes of my contributions in some of these experiences were not measurable. My personal assessment is that the interviewers conducting the final rounds lacked adequate preparation and experience.
- Can you describe your approach to providing feedback to your team members?
