To apply for the role, I first had to create three posts on their Buzzfeed Community site to showcase my writing skills and ideas. After submitting my application with those posts, my cover letter, and resume, I waited a few weeks for a phone interview with a recruiter. That went well, so I was invited to the second round: a video interview with two managers. We spoke for about 45 minutes, and they really complimented my personality and writing samples, making me feel confident. They even discussed what my first day would be like. However, two days later, I got an email saying I didn't get the job because they chose someone more qualified. This was frustrating, especially after waiting almost three weeks for the entire process.

The interview process was pretty straightforward. They asked how I stay organized, which was an annoying question, as I've never met someone in editorial who was organized lol. They were also toward the end of their interview process, which means they were probably already planning to hire someone else by the time they recruited me.

I applied online through Buzzfeed's website. About three weeks later, a recruiter reached out and scheduled an interview for the following week. There was an issue with the time, and we couldn't connect when I logged in late. I took responsibility and apologized. The recruiter suggested rescheduling for the next day. I made sure to log in early to be punctual. However, the recruiter never showed up or admitted me to the video conference. Within 10 minutes of the scheduled start time, I received a message stating they were not moving forward. It seemed like they didn't actually intend to have the interview.

I applied and then a recruiter reached out via email for a phone interview. I scheduled it using their online system. The recruiter attempted to reschedule twice and then didn't show up for our Google Meet, so I had to initiate a call. They hung up on me, then called back, and we had the interview, which was strange. About five hours later, I got another email requesting a second interview the next day. I scheduled that, but never received a confirmation. I had to email the next day to confirm if we were still on, and the recruiter insisted they sent it but only did so after I asked. I completed this next interview, where I was told they have high expectations and anticipate candidates to know everything. Despite this, they said I would be a great fit and would be closely monitoring my email. It's now been a month with no follow-up, not even a rejection, and the job posting was removed from the website.
