First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Banque Nationale du Canada/National Bank of Canada.
Assistant
The interview went well and the process moved fast. The interviewers were professional and the HR experience was good. It took about two weeks from the first call until the interviews, exams and results.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Can you tell us about your experience?
- Could you take a French grammar test?
Banking Advisor
I applied for the Banking Advisor position and got called in. The manager asked me to show my ID and give my DOB for a sales test. I didn't get an offer after a few rounds and I'm not sure if my age was a factor. I think asking for age is usually not allowed unless it's to check if you're 18+.
- Can you tell me what you know about National Bank?
- What year was National Bank founded?
- What are your biggest strengths and weaknesses?
Corporate Banking Analyst
First up was a HR screening call, then the first round had 2 associates where it was half technical and half behavioural. The final round was with 2 VPs and focused on fit and some market based questions.
- Tell me about yourself, why this national bank, why corporate banking?
- What market trend are you observing?
- How would you assess creditworthiness?
Customer Retention Advisor
Submitted my application, then got a call to schedule a phone interview. Had the phone interview, then a video interview on Microsoft Teams. After that, I received an email saying my profile was not accepted. I emailed the recruiter to understand why I wasn't selected. The recruiter then emailed back asking for a phone call to explain. I replied accepting the call. We had the call, and that's been the end of the exchanges so far.
- What would you do if a customer called asking for information you don't have?
