I recently interviewed at the National Bank of Canada, and it was a pretty good experience. They started with a phone screening, then there were two in-person interviews. The interviewers were nice and professional, making it easy to talk about my technical skills and past experiences. They asked some interesting questions that let me show what I can do. The interviews gave me a good feel for the company culture and how they value teamwork and new ideas. I also liked that they care about diversity and inclusion. It was cool to hear about their tech advancements and how they're doing in digital banking. Even though I didn't get an offer, I thought highly of the National Bank of Canada and would be happy to interview again.

So there were 2 interviews. First, an HR screening. If you passed that, then you had the actual interview with a director. They'll probably ask about your financial knowledge and technical skills. The more you know, the better. Depending on your background, if you studied finance, brush up on the tech side. If you're in tech, learn more about financial markets. Read a few books and learn the material. People are counting on you.
