Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Banque Nationale du Canada/National Bank of Canada.
Analyst
The interview process was a positive one overall. I interacted with a friendly, polite, and considerate manager. There were three stages in the interview, and I received useful feedback after it was all done.
- Tell me about your understanding of the stock market.
Analyst
I applied a while ago for an analyst position, I received a phone call from the person in charge of the hiring process while driving. She did not even ask if it's a good time to talk nor did she care although I made it clear that it's not a good timing. It wasn't a phone screening, she wanted to ask me detailed questions. To top it off she acted annoyed by the fact that I wasn't prepared for her call like excuse me?! Anyways, I ended up applying for the same position with RBC and got it, not to mention that the pay it much better too. Overall would not recommend, they don't deserve my talent or service.
- Describe a difficult project you managed.
Analyst
I sent in my application online. Then, they gave me a call for a screening interview. After that, I met with the manager and an HR person for another interview. Finally, I interviewed with the manager and a senior manager.
- Can you tell me about your past experience?
- How are things going for you?
