The interview process was good. First, a phone screen to check basic technical skills and if I was a good fit. Then, a 30-minute chat with an SVP. The second interview involved discussing the role and where I saw myself fitting in. It was very conversational.

It was a long interview process, and in the end, they decided not to hire anyone for the position, which felt like a waste of time for everyone. Then, a month or two later, the job was posted again, and the same thing happened. This happened multiple times to people with over 20 years of experience, and five different people received the same email for the same job at different times when it was posted.

The interview went for about 20 minutes, and then the purchasing manager and director stopped asking questions. I sensed I wouldn't be selected, but they didn't end the interview. I took the opportunity to ask them many questions about the role and the company culture. Eventually, I suggested we conclude the interview. They were hoping to hire someone by mid-December, but I didn't get formal notification that I wasn't chosen until February.

I had a great interview experience at Zayo! Jessica J. reached out for an initial screening and sent a link to her calendar for a quick chat. I was able to schedule it and we connected within a week. She gave a good overview of the company, recent leadership changes, and future direction. We discussed my experience, and I highlighted details relevant to the role. It was a good conversation. I was asked about salary requirements, and my expectations were a bit higher than the budgeted range. She said she'd check for flexibility and scheduled my next call with the hiring manager. My next interview was with Chelsea, who was great and has been with the company for about 10 years. She explained her ideal candidate profile, and we reviewed my experience with examples related to the role. I enjoyed our talk and hoped to move to final interviews, but unfortunately, the role had a salary cap that didn't meet my expectations. I let Jessica know that given my positive interview experience, I hoped to be considered for future roles. Good news is they have new openings, so I've reached out to Jessica to learn more! The job market is tough, so if you get an interview with a company like Zayo that genuinely cares, keep following up. Regardless of the outcome, it's about how they make you feel, which is why I circled back to them.
