It was a long interview process, and in the end, they decided not to hire anyone for the position, which felt like a waste of time for everyone. Then, a month or two later, the job was posted again, and the same thing happened. It was a really good and super polite interview experience. They asked questions that were directly related to the job and the whole process went really smoothly. The interview process was pretty relaxed, and the questions weren't difficult to answer, just the usual ones. I've known the person who recommended me for about 20 years, which might have helped. My 20 years of experience in fiber optics also played a role.
