First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at YETI.
Sales Supervisor
Applied online and heard from the recruiter, then went ahead with the interviews. #1 was a 30-minute initial phone screening with the Recruiter. #2 was a 45-minute virtual interview with the Hiring Manager. #3 was a 45-minute virtual interview with two peers of the Hiring Manager. #4 was a 30-minute virtual interview with the HR Business Partner. #5 was a 30-minute final virtual interview with the Director. Overall, a great experience. They were very respectful of my time, got feedback to me very quickly, and moved me to the next step quickly. Ultimately, they decided last-minute to move the position from remote to in-person, so the recruiter called me and told me they couldn't move forward. Overall, a bummer that they'd spend that much of my time to move the details. Enjoyed my time speaking with the team, but bummed to spend so much time and go through so many rounds for it to change.
- How do you go about building a sales team and ensuring targets are exceeded?
Marketing Specialist
First I chatted with someone from HR who went over the job details, pay, and so on. I answered a few simple questions, and then they said I'd have another interview with the manager of the department. I then met with her and she asked a lot about strategy and what I'd suggest for some situations. In the end, I couldn't relocate to Austin full-time, and they weren't flexible on that, even though the job was advertised as hybrid remote.
- Which industry organizations would you approach for potential partnerships, and what steps would you take to establish those partnerships?
- Can you outline your recommendations for specific hypothetical scenarios?
Senior Quality Assurance Engineer
Got referred by someone. Had a recruiter call first, then 2 interviews. One was with the hiring manager, the second was with some peers. The recruiter wouldn't tell me how many total interviews there would be. After I finished the second round, the recruiter ghosted me and didn't proactively give me any updates. Turns out the hiring manager was on PTO for 3 weeks. Once they got back, it took them almost 2 weeks to finally tell me I wasn't moving forward. Super frustrating experience.
- Could you tell me about an area where you think you could make a contribution to the team?
Program Manager
The process started with a recruiter call that felt unprofessional – they were 10 minutes late and the 30-minute call ended up being 45 minutes, with slow email responses. Then there was a 45-minute Hiring Manager interview over Zoom. The worst part was being called into the office for on-site interviews without cab reimbursement, only to receive a rejection a few days later. When I asked the recruiter for feedback, they didn't even have the courtesy to provide it to candidates who reached the final stage. All the interviewers themselves were nice though.
