Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at YETI.
Supplier Quality Engineer
First I spoke with a recruiter for a phone screen, then I was advanced to speak with the hiring manager. We didn't really vibe personality-wise, so I wasn't put forward for any further steps. The HR team did reach out again later, but I had already accepted another offer by then.
- Can you tell me about your experience with gdt?
Senior Quality Assurance Engineer
Got referred by someone. Had a recruiter call first, then 2 interviews. One was with the hiring manager, the second was with some peers. The recruiter wouldn't tell me how many total interviews there would be. After I finished the second round, the recruiter ghosted me and didn't proactively give me any updates. Turns out the hiring manager was on PTO for 3 weeks. Once they got back, it took them almost 2 weeks to finally tell me I wasn't moving forward. Super frustrating experience.
- Could you tell me about an area where you think you could make a contribution to the team?
Product Quality Engineer
I interviewed during COVID in 2020. It started with a phone screening with a recruiter, then I had 2 more interviews over Zoom. The whole experience felt pretty casual, and everyone I talked to was professional and kind.
- Can you tell me why you're interested in working at YETI?
- What makes you a strong candidate for this position?
